Cleveland Potash operates a quality management system which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 for the processing of mined ore into potassium products for agricultural and industrial applications.

ISO 14001

In August 2000, Cleveland Potash Ltd was awarded 14001:2004 for their environmental management system, which covers surface operations at Boulby Mine including the tailings facility, the outfall and the railway line which runs from the mine to nearby Carlin Howe.

BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System

In November 2009, Cleveland Potash was successfully certified to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System covering the activities of Cleveland Potash Limited inclusive of Underground, Surface, Tees Dock and Administration.

It formalizes procedures and allows CPL to consistently identify and control its health and safety risks, reduce potential for accidents, aid legislative compliance and improve overall safety performance for employees, customers and general public.
