About Rotem Amfert Negev
Rotem Amfert Negev is an integrated, multinational phosphate group manufacturing and marketing a comprehensive range of products based on phosphate rock as raw material and leading to downstream derivatives including phosphoric acids, fertilizers, specialty chemicals and phosphate salts.

Formed through a merger of Negev Phosphates Ltd. and the Rotem Amfert Group in 1991, Rotem Amfert Negev solidly based on the strengths of Israel's valuable natural resources, (Negev Phosphate Rock is complemented by near by supplies of Dead Sea Potash) combined with world renowned expertise in agriculture and extensive capabilities in international productions, logistics, marketing and distribution.

The group's development program focuses on the rationalization of the production lines, marketing and distribution, along with dynamic diversification into value-added downstream and environment friendly products. Early 1996 saw acquisition from Hoechst of BK Ladenburg. In January of 1997 BK merged with Giulini Chemie, a subsidiary of ICL. The merged group is a European manufacturer and international supplier with established marketing subsidiaries, mainly serving the food processing, paper and industrial/civic water treatment industries with sophisticated specialty chemicals and phosphate salts products.

The group has ownership in a strategic network of European companies including productions plants in Holland, Germany, Belgium and France. One of these, the NutriSI Joint Venture with the Chilean SQM, produces environment friendly NPK, fully soluble. In the year 2000, Rotem Amfert Negev aqcuired Opal, a feed phosphate producer in Turkey and started operating under the name of Rotem Turkey, producing feed phosphate products for the local and European markets.

Rotem Amfert Negev is an integrated multinational phosphate group manufacturing and marketing a comprehensive on the strengths of the low residue fertilizers to meet the rapidly rising ecological standards demanded in the developed countries. In 1994 the Group purchased Penngar in France, manufacturer of detergents for the dairy products industry and a consumer of Rotem Amfert Negev's technical grade phosphoric acid in its production processes.

The Group's worldwide operations are integrated and synchronized to maximize flexibility and quick market response. From phosphate rock mined in the Negev desert and beneficiated at the Zin, Oron and Rotem plants, through to production of downstream products at the Rotem and European plants, bulk orders are transported to one of the Group's modern storage and loading terminals. Orders are then shipped via Negev Star (a partnership with Zim Lines) through ports at Ashdod on the Mediterranean Sea, Eilat on the Red Sea, or through Amsterdam.

The Group's European production plants in Holland on the North Sea Canal and in the German industrial port area of Ludwigshafen, serve as convenient distribution points, via rail-cars, trucks, coasters, barges and ocean-going vessels. Spacious warehouses in Israel and Europe, together with fully-linked sales offices worldwide, plus a network of terminal facilities around the world ensure that the Group's logistics system is ready to meet each customer's special requirements.

Emphasis on highly personalized, customized service to manufacturers and formulators has grown together with Rotem Amfert Negev's increasing involvement in the marketing/distribution programs of its recent acquisitions. R&D projects incorporate customers' industrial needs while maximizing use of raw materials and by-products. All Rotem Amfert Negev plants have achieved ISO 9001 certification.
